NYC, The Tomb, Electronics Store… Running From The Police

I usually don’t do these blogs during a day like this but there’s just so much action out here on 31st and 6th.

This has been the third time the police have warned me about taking pictures not to stop but the officer said, “If there’s anything fucking on this camera that crosses the line, you’re going downtown.” If any of you people don’t know what’s “going downtown” means, that’s to the tombs.

By Canal Street, it’s where they keep all the people of New York City who get arrested during the day. You’re in lockup for 24 hours, sometimes 27. I’ve been there twice. It is the House of Horror. When you see people running from the police, it’s because they’ve been in The Tombs once. They’re terrified of going back there. It’s quite funny but it’s a nightmare.

Anyway, the action on 31st and 6th is amazing. This traffic’s packed up at 85 degrees, taxis are beeping their horns, there are arguments in the street. The massage parlor is very busy today. Africans are working very hard with the purses. It’s some type of breaking the law every six seconds and the people, the expressions, the paranoia – it’s great.

I love it here. I’m probably going to be here for at least a month. Anyway, signing off.
