Engagement Photos, United Nations Big Meeting, Uptown Folks

Today was a totally different day than all the other days of photography because I actually got hired to photograph something.

Anyway, on 60th Street in first was the Williamsburg Bridge. Excuse me, not Williamsburg – Queensborough Bridge – my mistake. There were these people that got engaged and wanted to get some really nice professional pictures for themselves with the bridge in the background, this little cute park. Anyway, they hired me.

We had a nice little lunch and then we went to this little park. Took some great candids, some posed pictures, pictures of her, by himself him, a whole big layout. I never drink during the day but we had some Sangria and they went off on their merry way.

In that area between 58th and 60th, the United Nations is having their big meeting here in America so all the streets are blocked off, secret service everywhere, road blocks, maybe 600 police officers. So, I was taking pictures walking around before I did their pictures and like I said, they left.

So, I was in this park by myself and I got to look at different people. These are uptown people like the Billy Joel song Uptown Girl. The women between 50 and 60 had all their boob jobs, their eyes done, their thin bodies, they’re always at the gym and there were a million nannies there with rich people’s kids.

The funny thing is that there were a lot of serious people walking their dogs. They bring their dogs to this park and actually some of the poodles just came out of the beauty parlor and it was quite a funny scene. I guess the funniest thing that happened is there was this lady there with her poodle and it was so fluffed up and cute that I asked to take a picture.

So as I took a picture of the poodle, there was a man there with his poodle so I go to take a picture of his poodle. He grabbed his poodle and he goes, “No, thank you. That’s okay, that’s okay.” So I said, “It’s actually a portrait website. It’s really cool. Your dog will be immortalized.” He said, “Oh no, thank you, thank you.” Since I had a little bit of sangria in me, my stupid reply was, “I’m not going to put your dog on a porn site.” When I said that, it was like I realized that some of these people’s dogs and pets are like their children and he got very upset. Anyway, I apologized for my stupid comment.
