Double espresso, hoodies, tourists, rain, umbrellas

Just had my double espresso over black coffee and I want to talk about yesterday. Yesterday was another store. I worked in there once between 36th and 37th.

This is all strictly tourists on a Sunday, no locals, no nothing. It’s in the middle of a block, of course. both streets the light changes and they all converge right in front of me. So lots of great tourist pictures and all that fun stuff.

But what’s interesting is I see a lot of fashion from Europe, Brazil. A lot of these kids, young people wearing these hoods like the hood covers right to their temples and these kids are wearing the headphones or MP4’s, slouched over, They’re like in their own world. Everything is blocked out, they look like Unabomber hoods. I guess the last six years I spent really watching this change of fashion. A lot of skull t-shirts – they’re going away. These hoodies are really coming in strong.

I’m not really a person to talk about fashion. I’m hippie kind of 70’s. I got my Levis and my flannel shirts and my Frye boots. But it was a good day of photography yesterday and just hung home last night with the kids. Today I’m in the same store, it’s raining out. I like the rain, because I get good reflective light from the umbrellas.

Signing off.
