Danny Diamonds and Mr 7th Avenue

Good morning. Last night was great. I got home around quarter after 9. I went to sleep at 10 and I didn’t wake up till probably 6 o’clock in the morning. I never do that. Last 3 days 24 days straight of working round the clock. I think I was delirious last night just from being tired. But I think I left a pretty good blog.

I want to talk about two of my buddies, Danny Diamonds and Mr. 7th Avenue. These are my two guys who hang out with me on the street. They walk around the city doing whatever they do. Very rarely I meet someone who is as hip as me or hipper.

Danny Diamonds is 65 and Mr. 7th Avenue is my age.

We tell war stories and these people walk by, we give our – I guess the word is assessment or what we think of them or what they were doing the night before or what they do for a living or their status as being married, single or whatever. Even the guys – we try to figure out which guy is gay, which guy is not. It’s fun conversation.

These guys I think, did some time because they’re so knowledgeable of everything and then they’re there between 5 and 10 and they read 3,000 books. That’s why I like hanging with them. They know a lot of things I don’t know. Pretty much things I know, they know. I hate to call them my mentors but they’re up there.

By the way, I have had a lot of good mentors in my life. My grandfather – my grandfather was a good friend to Tennessee Williams and Shel Silverstein. These are cool guys that hung in Key West with me in the 10 years I was there. Well, I – they didn’t hang with me. They were always in the bar so I hung with them.

It’s Sunday morning right now. I’m getting ready for some rip roaring photography. Like I said last night, the coats are very nice so we’ll have a nice section of coats coming up as soon as I get them downloaded.

Signing off.
